I've lost over a stone in the last 8-10 months, no gym just eat less and better.

Re: health kick
The key is to shrink your stomach by eating less more often so you don't feel as hungry and when faced with alarge meal you don't feel like eating as much. Drink lots of water as well. Prep your own sarnies for lunch with normal bread not breadcakes so less bread being consumed or use those warburtons fkat square things. No bacon sarnies, don't eat after 7 in the evening. If you have to have a larger lunch and smaller tea.

Re: health kick
I am toying with the idea of doing the Leeds half marathon, will be walking as can't run cos of my knackered ankle but did 10k in 2013 in 1h 27mins so looking at 3 and a half hours maybe.
Fancy it?
Did 14 miler same year in 4 and half hours but that was up hill and down dale.
Will be for charity again, great craik and makes you feel good when you hand the money over!

Re: health kick
My sis is maybe doing the Brownlee tri-athalon in Sept again, would fancy a go except for the 400 metre swim at the beginning. 13k cycle ride and 3k run doesn't faze me too much. A long way off so plenty of time to do th very little training I I'll do for it.
Aim is to lose another half stone when the better weather gets here. Of course a very fast two hour ride on the ZX is as good as a gym workout.
A trackday would be good for exercise as well. Some cheapies in Feb coming up but can't promise good weather of course.

Re: health kick
Running really fucks my knee, I hope once i loose some blubber I can run a bit, but for now running is a no no..
Re: health kick
I can't run either, mainly cos of my ankle from my Mallory crazy but also had a slipped disc in 2002 which is ok now but compresses together when I run. Fast walking for me if I do any of the above.
I have to rcommend swimming if your knee is knackered, bloody good exercise and no jarring on joints. Used to do it regularly back in the nineties and lost load of weight. That said I used to go to the gym but only did heavy weights cos I couldn't stand running. When I stopped anything built up turned to flab, hence my moobs!

Re: health kick
I go swimming and I only do cardio work at gym, exercise bike, rowing machine and cross trainer so no impact at all...
