nipped out for a blast upto ripon late sunday, on way back bastard gear link rod decides it dont want to be attached to gear lever anymore and fucks itself off, luckily my mate had some spare bolts in his bum bag, he has a suzuki so it must happen all the time for him, so loctite it is this weekend.....and a service...

Thats what exactly happened to me when i brought the gixer home. Was pulling off motorway went to down shift and was now gear lever!! 

Mine is now loctite on....

so did the bolt come out or was it too loose to hold the lever on the shaft?

That's rear sets for you, mine did the same but fortunately linkage remained in place so I just had to reattach it.

came out on road somewhere lost with the spacer.....wnew bolts arrived yesterday along with lock nut and loctite...
